Construction Safety

  • Do consult with PECO when constructing a building near power lines.
  • Please refrain from touching power lines especially when operating a crane or lifting materials needed for construction such as metal rods and pipes.
  • When the construction site is near the power lines, you can request rubber insulators from PECO to cover these lines.
  • Please identify the electrical wired areas around the construction site, especially those that cannot be seen in the ground.
  • Refrain from installing antennas near power lines; make sure that in the event it falls it will not come in contact with the power lines.
  • Please refrain from work activities near power lines during rainy days.
  • In the event of electrocution, immediately isolate the victim from electricity before applying first aid.
